In order for Liberalism, Socialism, Progressivism, what ever you want to call this mental disorder, to grow it must have victims to save. Consequently, all we seem to hear about these days are these so-called victims.
Apparently:
• If you were born in this country, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you came here from another country, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If your skin is a different color from the person beside you, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you are overweight, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you are underweight, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you were born to parents on welfare from the government, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you did not finish High School, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you finished High School but did not go to college, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you went to college and took on too much debt, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you bought a house you could not afford, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you rent because you cannot afford a house, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you lost your job because you really did not want one to start with, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If all you can afford with your welfare check is your cell phone payment and a case of beer, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you are already paid more and have more benefits because you belong to a Union, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you are a large Corporation that happens to produce crops, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you own a clunker, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If your house is not new, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If your appliances still work but are not new, you are probably a victim and need assistance.
• If you have to buy a half a gallon of milk instead of a gallon because your fake nails cost you $40, you are probably a victim and need assistance.

Feeding the Beast II
What can we do today to turn this political nightmare around? Stop Feeding the Beast!
We have already discussed how we shoot ourselves in the foot by purchasing products produced mainly by Big Labor. For example, automobiles produced by GM and Chrysler. We have also discussed how supporting the Movie Industry is counter productive to Conservatism. While I’m not big into boycotting, one has to decide to what degree they are willing to go to save our country. Are we at war? I think so.
When was the last time you contacted your Congressman? Senators? Governor? They were elected to represent you. Even if you feel you are being ignored you must still make those contacts and make them often. To throw your hands in the air and give up because you feel the system is out of control or you feel government has just become too big to tackle, makes you part of the problem. Freedom was not won through complacency. Keeping your freedom will not be accomplished through complacency.
Also, while you are waiting for November educate yourself on the founding documents and our founding fathers. It is an amazing story of courage and sacrifice. What I find most amazing is how some 230 years ago many of them could foresee this day and the circumstances which we face. They were true visionaries. Unlike today’s Progressives who see themselves as visionaries by pushing a socialist agenda, the founding fathers set up this country so people with ambition could exceed beyond their wildest dreams. Socialism is a system which takes from the ambitious and gives to the stagnant minded until there is nothing left for anyone.
History holds many examples of failed socialist governments and “zero” true successes. I believe Einstein provided us the definition of attempting the same thing over and over while expecting a different result, as Insane. Today’s progressives are not visionaries, nor are they any more intelligent than the politicians of previously failed socialist states. They are simply insane and very dangerous to you and I.

Feeding the Beast
Everyone is asking the question, “What can I do NOW to stop this Government?” The answer should be as plain as the dollars in your wallet and the shoes on your feet. Let us start slowly, Labor Unions own a large portion of the auto industry, right? So, what happens when you go out and purchase a new GM or Chrysler Automobile? Answer: The Unions benefit. Now, stay with me here. Who do the Unions support with their campaign contributions and votes? OK, I see the bulbs coming on, let’s keep reading.
Have you been to the movies lately? Really? Who gets the proceeds from your ticket purchases? Wow, exactly. The same folks who pump millions to your least favorite politicians campaign coffers. Now, who do the Hollywooders tend to vote for in major elections? Shazam, Democrats, you guys are getting good!
Now, not wanting to overwhelm anyone at this point. Let’s just sit back and stew on what we have learned today and then we’ll see if we can’t figure out other ways to stop feeding the beast in the next post.
Cheers!

Taking the National Debt Seriously In 2009 about 40% of income taxes will go towards debt interest payments.
By LAWRENCE KADISH
If you think those town hall meetings over health care were fierce, wait until Americans come to understand the threat to our national financial survival posed by the interest on the government’s credit card.
When the government spends more than its revenue, there is a budget deficit. These deficits are paid for by Washington selling interest bearing Treasury securities. If the government were ever to default on its promise to pay periodic interest payments or to repay the debt at maturity, the United States economy would plunge into a level of chaos that would make the Lehman bankruptcy look like a nonevent.
It is the interest on the national debt that makes our future unstable. The exploding size of that burden suggests that, short of devaluing the dollar and taking a large bite out of the middle class through inflation and taxation, there is no way to ever pay down that bill.
As of Sept. 30, 2009, the national debt was almost $12 trillion and interest on that debt was $383 billion for the year, according to the Treasury Department’s Bureau of the Public Debt. The Congressional Budget Office on Oct. 7 estimated the 2009 budget deficit to be almost $1.4 trillion (about 10% of GDP). In August, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) estimated total government revenues at about $2 trillion. The revenue estimate included $904 billion from individual income taxes. This means the cost of interest on the debt represented more than 40 cents of every dollar that came in from individual income taxes.
Except for a few years in the late 1990s, for decades Washington has spent more than it has taken in each year and borrowed the rest. Taxpayer dollars that could have paid off debt each year have instead been spent on interest to finance debt. Unfortunately, that’s a vicious cycle that will likely only get worse.
The OMB projects deficits of about $9 trillion over the next 10 years. If that occurs, the national debt will be almost $21 trillion by 2019. However, the actual amount could be much higher. The OMB also optimistically projects $13.5 trillion of revenue increases over the next decade, while minimizing the inevitable rise in interest rates that will come with an expanding national debt.
During Jimmy Carter’s years in the White House, Treasury yields reached 15%. The 2009 average interest rate on the debt was only 3.2%. With our mounting national debt and budget deficits, it is reasonable to assume that in the near future interest rates on new and refinanced debt could double or triple.
In stark but simple terms, unless Americans are made aware of this financial crisis and demand accountability, the very fabric of our society will be destroyed. Interest rates and interest costs will soar and government revenues will be devoured by interest on the national debt. Eventually, most of what we spend on Social Security, Medicare, education, national defense and much more may have to come from new borrowing, if such funding can be obtained. Left unchecked, this destructive deficit-debt cycle will leave the White House and Congress with either having to default on the national debt or instruct the Treasury to run the printing presses into a policy of hyperinflation.
It is against this background that Washington is now debating whether to create social programs it can’t afford.
Steve Forbes recently commented that when it comes to the national deficit, voters will put things in order. I certainly hope so. However, it’s imprudent to rely just on “hope.” Americans need to take notice, stand up, and remind our elected officials that in a democracy the people can change bad leaders.

This is no time to let up on Congress over health care!
October 9, 2009 | By Amanda Reinecker
The tax-and-spend health care plan
Earlier this week, the Congressional Budget Office released its preliminary cost estimate for the health plan put forward by Senator Max Baucus (D-MT). The plan would cost $829 billion over ten years but still reduce the deficit by $81 billion.
The White House and liberals in Congress say the report confirms President Obama’s promise that big-government reforms “will help bring our deficits under control in the long term.” The leftist media jumped on board, heralding the CBO’s numbers as a “green light” for Obamacare.
Does it sound too good to be true? There’s a good reason why: Heritage health policy expert Nina Owcharenko points out that the report is far from rosy.
- Just a preliminary analysis. The CBO makes very clear that its analysis is based on Sen. Baucus’ plain-English draft proposal. It is not based on final legislative language, so the cost estimates are subject to drastic change.
- Real cost may be far higher. The $829 billion ten-year cost could easily underestimate the real burden. “Virtually all cost estimates of government programs underestimate the true cost,” she argues. Just look at programs like Medicare, which came in about eight times more expensive than early projections.
- ‘Paid for’ with new taxes. How do you turn $829 billion in spending into an $81 billion deficit reduction? In part by raising taxes. Individuals who choose not to purchase government-approved health coverage and employers who opt not to provide coverage to their employees will face heavy taxes. And new taxes on insurance companies will simply be passed on to consumers in the form of higher premiums.
- ‘Paid for’ with unlikely cuts. The other way the Left would pay for this bill is by cutting Medicare. How likely are these cuts? Not very, Owcharenko says: “Traditionally, such cuts rarely come to fruition. Special interests lobby to stop any real cuts from occurring after the bill is passed.”
- Leaves millions uninsured. Despite spending $829 billion or more specifically to provide insurance to those without it, 26 million people will still lack coverage. Of those who do receive government coverage, approximately half of them will be dumped into Medicaid — “a program sorely in need of reform itself.”
“In short, the news from CBO is not good news for the American taxpayers,” writes Heritage health policy analyst Dennis Smith.
The secret plan to pass Obamacare
The CBO’s appealing estimates help smooth the way for the sneaky and complex legislative procedures the Left plans to use to pass Obamacare.
Heritage Senate Relations expert Brian Darling unveils the Left’s “secret plan,” warning that it would “railroad the bill through the Senate using a very unusual closed door procedure to craft the bill with no input from the American people.”
Sen. Jim Bunning (R-KY) has offered one way to ensure the proposal sees the light of day. He’s proposed legislation requiring a 72-hour waiting period and an official cost estimate before the Senate considers any legislation.
“If Obama’s promises to the American people about ethics and transparency mean anything,” writes Heritage’s Conn Carroll, “then he should insist on a full CBO scoring of health care” prior to any decision. Anything else would be unfair to the American people, especially when such a decision so directly affects each of us.
Good old ACORN! Could Obama have won without them?
